Hello people! On March 22-24 and March 30-31, there was an annual school sport event on Bali Field, which was Dewa Athena X. Basically, the school held various sports tournaments for 10th and 11th graders. The sports tournaments were basketball, futsal, dodgeball, volleyball, badminton, relay race, baseball, and tug of war. Each classes must have a team for each sport and then they will battle other class' team. Then, in the end of Dewa Athena, the winners of each sports from 10th graders and 11th graders will battle against each other.
March 22nd
This was the opening day of Dewa Athena X, and from what I remember the event started at 07.30 I think? Please take this with a grain of salt. The event oficially opened with fire flaming on a pan (?), which was eventually put out because the pan started to fall from the table. The first sport that my class attend was baseball, and... we surprisingly won. After that there was basketball, and we won as well with a really tight score. We also won futsal in the male category! But the most surprising winning for the class was tug of war. When we were called to compete at that category we were really confused because in the rundown, tug of war was supposed to be held after futsal. Some of the members of the team were still playing futsal, so we panicked. We eventually went to "go to the flow" route and play the game anyway, without those who played futsal. We lost in the first round, and honestly we just kinda gave up at that point. In the second round, however, we won with a surprise, so it was a tie. And in the bonus round we won again! That was such a surprising turn of event. However, our class shared some loss as well since we lost on relay run and dodgeball.
Oh yeah, this day was also Bussiness Day. Each class must sell food and beverages on the event. Our class sold a soda float for 5000 Rupiah (I think, I have such a bad memory).
March 23-24th
These 2 days were exclusively for 11th graders, so we didn't have to attend. But, I got fever so I didn't really enjoy this quick holiday. Stupid virus/bacteria!
March 30th
The event was continued from March 22nd for both 10th grade and 11th grade. The first tournament for our class was badminton. We won the first tournament, but lost at the second tournament. In my opinion, our class' team did their best on this tournament. They were very highly skilled! I adore them to pieces. We also lost basketball, volleyball, tug of war, and futsal, unfortunately, but again, the team tried their best in each tournament. But we won baseball! This category was the last one for the day, so we went home with satisfaction. I didn't watch the tournament though since I went home early.
March 31st
This was the final day of Dewa Athena X and we couldn't be more excited, yet anxious. This was the determining day for our class' baseball team. Would we get the champion trophy? By the way, the champion trophies were only given for the teams that won the tournament against 11th grade, so there's that. I went home early again so I didn't watch the tense battle of baseball. But good news, we were the champion of 3'2020! But we lost against 11th grade (which such a tight score, seriously, 23-25? That was so... close). I feel like the team had put their best effort in the game, I mean, the champion of 10th graders in baseball!! That was a great achievement already.
Overall it was a fun event despite that I oftenly went home early so I missed some of the fun.. dang. Kudos to those who participated! They sure were really great at their respected category and I envy their skill. Thank you for reading!
